Baroque Masterpieces
There is no other city in the world so rich of Baroque art like Rome.
Our special visit starts from Navona Square: the famous Fountain of the Four Rivers standing in the center was realized by the brilliant Gian Lorenzo Bernini. In Piazza Navona you will admire the Church of Sant’Agnese in Agone, designed by prominent architects, among which Francesco Borromini.
Our Baroque route then leads us Sant’Ivo alla Sapienza, a church realized in the second half of the 17th cen-tury by the master Borromini and considered one of the masterpieces of the architect for its artistic, technical and symbolic value.
Afterwards we will head to Spada Palace, where Borromini created his world famous false perspective, the most amazing architectural optical illusion conceived during the Baroque.
Finally we will proceed to the Church of St. Agostino in Campo Marzio, Church of St. Francis of the French and the Basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo, housing some of the most famous Caravaggio’s masterpieces.
